Scheduling Appointments

Our office hours are designed to meet the needs of parents, children and families.

Illness visits

We understand that a sick child can be very worrisome for a parent. We believe same day appointments are very important in a pediatric practice and it has always been our goal to be available to you. Please call our office as soon as possible in the morning if your child needs to be seen to ensure appointment availability. We do our best to remain on time, but please be patient as some delays may be beyond our control.

We will try our best to schedule your child with the provider (physician, nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant) of your choice; however, this may not be possible for a same day appointment. We offer multiple providers on a daily basis to meet your needs and do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Well Child Visits (Physicals)

Our provider’s schedules fill up quickly so if possible, please try to schedule appointments 6-8 weeks prior to the date you would like your child seen. This will help ensure you will get the date and time that works best for your schedule. More lengthy visits such as consultations for particular problems such as behavioral or learning issues should also be scheduled in advance.

After Hours

We realize that sometimes typical office hours don't coincide with the onset or worsening of an illness. We offer weekend hours for sick visit appointments.

Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 am-5:00 pm (closed from Noon to 1pm)

Telemedicine Visits

We offer telemedicine visits for many visit types. Please call 207-873-KIDS (5437) and ask for Triage (Option #2) to ask about availability.

If your child is sick, please call our office, 207-873-5437, and one of our fabulous triage nurses will schedule a telemedicine visit and send you a link to your provider’s telemedicine “room”. This link will be sent by email or by text, whichever you prefer. We are also offering telemedicine visits for medication checks, behavioral/ mental health visits, and some illness visits.

For patients who have had their medication or behavioral visits rescheduled due to COVID-19, we will be reaching out to you to reschedule via telemedicine if you are able. A few things to keep in mind to help your virtual visit run smoothly:

1. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: A computer, tablet or phone with camera and connection to high speed internet.

2. ARRIVAL TIME: Please “arrive” 10-15 minutes early to the virtual waiting room. This will allow you time to familiarize yourself with the telemedicine platform and perform the “Pre-call Test”.

3. DEVICE SETTINGS: Please check to make sure that you have allowed access to both your camera and microphone.

4. LIGHTING: Please make sure that you are in a well-lit area, remember that your provider will be relying heavily on visual assessment.

5. PATIENT INFORMATION: If you have access to a scale and/ or thermometer please obtain a current weight and temperature on your child.

We are excited to be able to offer our patients the same high level of care that you have come to expect while also decreasing your child’s risk of exposure. We are here for you as we always have been and we will get through these uncertain times together.

Missed Appointments

As an office, we prepare for your child's visit. It is very important when you make an appointment to keep it. By not keeping a scheduled appointment, our providers' ability to provide services to other patients is limited. As a result, in the event you fail to come to your scheduled appointment, the visit will be marked as a “No Show”. If there are three or more “No Show” appointments your child may be discharged from the practice.

We do understand that in today’s busy world occasionally situations come up that are beyond your control. In those instances, we do request you extend us the courtesy of a 24 hour notice. This courtesy allows us to use the time that was reserved for your child to help other patients in need. It is our policy that if you miss or call within less than the requested 24 hour appointment time period, the visit will be marked as a “No Show”.
