Scheduling Appointments

Our office hours are designed to meet the needs of parents, children and families.

Illness visits

We understand that a sick child can be very worrisome for a parent. We believe same day appointments are very important in a pediatric practice and it has always been our goal to be available to you. Please call our office as soon as possible in the morning if your child needs to be seen to ensure appointment availability. We do our best to remain on time, but please be patient as some delays may be beyond our control.

We will try our best to schedule your child with the provider (physician, nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant) of your choice; however, this may not be possible for a same day appointment. We offer multiple providers on a daily basis to meet your needs and do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Well Child Visits (Physicals)

Our provider’s schedules fill up quickly so if possible, please try to schedule appointments 6-8 weeks prior to the date you would like your child seen. This will help ensure you will get the date and time that works best for your schedule. More lengthy visits such as consultations for particular problems such as behavioral or learning issues should also be scheduled in advance.

Prenatal Visits

Our team of providers is happy to meet with any expecting families. Please call to set up an appointment.

Walk-in Hours

We have designated 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM Monday through Friday as the “walk-in” time in our Waterville and Madison offices. If your child becomes ill overnight or his condition changes and you would like him to be seen, you can come to our office without an appointment and be seen first thing in the morning. If there is an ongoing issue for which you would like your child seen, please schedule an appointment during regular office hours.

These urgent care visits are for minor, short-term health concerns such as:

  • Cough and cold symptoms
  • Sore throat
  • Ear pain
  • Fever
  • Rash
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Onset of symptoms in the last 3 days.

For well child-check-ups, chronic concerns or more complex health issues, please schedule an appointment during regular office hours.

After Hours

Waterville Pediatrics strives to make receiving care easy and available at times that work for everyone’s schedules. Evening hours for urgent care are from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday in our Waterville office. Extended weekday hours are for children who become sick later in the day. The answering service is available when the office is closed.

We are also open in our Waterville office by appointment on Saturday morning for acute illnesses and injuries. We offer after hours appointments for urgent care needs Saturday afternoons, Sundays and most holidays. Weekend hours are for urgent problems that cannot await regular office hours on Monday. An additional charge of $50.00 applies to after hours visits. Please be aware that not all insurance companies cover these charges. We suggest that you check with your insurance company ahead of time to avoid an unexpected charge.

Missed Appointments

If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment we ask that you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment time. Please notify our office as soon as you are aware that you need to cancel your appointment. Our schedule fills up quickly and early cancellations allow for others to be seen.

We understand that from time to time, circumstances may prevent a patient from being on time for an appointment. If you are late it is likely that we will be delayed in seeing you, or you may be asked to reschedule. However, frequent late arrivals without notification and “no show” visits are unacceptable. Repeated “no show” or same day cancellation of visits may result in a dismissal from the practice.
